  • Philly residents are invited to join a citywide quest that features a New Year-themed photo and asks them to guess where it was taken (the challenge runs this week).  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • Local Venezuelan groups will hold a peace vigil today at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (noon) to promote unity amid uncertainty after news from Venezuela sparked community concern. Restaurateur Gil Arends said his employees remain hopeful despite lingering worry from reports out of Caracas.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • After US forces captured Maduro early Saturday, Philadelphia International Airport cancelled over 30 Caribbean flights amid travel delays, leaving passengers unsure when services will resume (airlines advise checking for updates).  KYW Newsradio

  • A couple exchanged vows in a Mummers wedding on Market Street during the parade. The unique ceremony featured sequins and sneakers and celebrated Philly’s vibrant cultural flair.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

SPORTS NEWS

  • Delaware Blue Coats lost 110-108 to Birmingham Squadron at the Chase Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon after a late comeback effort fell short (the team will play Birmingham again at 2 p.m. tomorrow).  Metro Philadelphia
  • The Sixers beat the Knicks 130-119 at MSG in the final game of a five-game road trip, with rookie VJ Edgecombe scoring 22 points + Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey adding 26 and 36 points. They will host the Nuggets Monday at 8:30 p.m. at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Harrison Bader, a free agent who impressed with the Phillies last season, is asking for a multi-year deal after declining a $10 million option & the team signed Adolis Garcia on a one-year contract. His return now seems unlikely as the outfield lineup shifts.  Metro Philadelphia
  • MLB insider Jon Heyman reported the Phillies are weighing their options as they consider shortstop Bo Bichette amid a tight payroll, which may shift focus from catcher J.T. Realmuto before spring training in March (with bench coach Don Mattingly possibly aiding in the transition).  Metro Philadelphia
  • The Sixers will try to extend their winning streak to three today at 7:30 p.m. in New York when they face the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Joel Embiid is listed as probable while coach Nick Nurse tweaks rotations to boost the team's Eastern Conference push.  Metro Philadelphia
