- ➤ Historic Germantown launches a year of events for America's 250th anniversary (celebrating historic community sites) with 26 Weeks of Walking Tours this February and Firefly Hours starting in April to extend visiting times at 20 historic sites. A Season of Festivals from April to October will offer free cultural activities. Metro Philadelphia
- ➤ People’s Light in Malvern will stage Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias from Jan. 14 through Feb. 15 using a cast of longtime company artists. The production will include a Relaxed Performance on Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. (with audio description and ASL interpretation) to support accessibility. Metro Philadelphia

- ➤ The Eagles lost 24-17 to the Commanders on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field and will host the 49ers in the playoffs next week — sealing their spot as the NFC's third seed. Metro Philadelphia
- ➤ The Flyers kicked off the new year with a 5-2 win over the Oilers, boosting their playoff chances with 49 points and third place in the Metropolitan Division. They return to action on home ice on January 6 when they host the Anaheim Ducks. Metro Philadelphia
