  • Costumes from 'Sinners' designed by Ruth E. Carter (the most-nominated Black woman in Academy history) are on display at Philadelphia's African American Museum as part of 'Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism in Costume Design' (exhibit runs until Sept. 6).  WHYY
  • Pig Iron Theatre marks 30 years with a season at the Wilma Theater featuring a reprise of ‘Poor Judge’ — Pax Ressler will lead the production as co-creator Dito van Reigersberg recovers from a recurrence of leukemia. This season celebrates decades of experimental, original theater in Philadelphia.  WHYY
  • Philadelphia Theatre Company will present 'Caesar,' a modern adaptation of Julius Caesar reimagined as a fast-paced political thriller at Suzanne Roberts Theatre from Feb. 6 to 22. Adapted by Tyler Dobrowsky and directed by Morgan Green, the 90-minute production uses video and sound design with Shakespeare's language.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Historian John Garrison Marks said the removal of a slavery exhibit from President’s House Site at Independence National Historical Park shows a struggle to tell all of the city’s history. His new book in April will discuss George Washington’s use of enslaved workers and how this past is kept hidden.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

  • The Philadelphia School District outlined a $2.8B plan that will close 20 schools, move 6, and renovate over 100 others—a measure intended to reallocate resources and improve student support, officials said.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

  • Philadelphia is bracing for heavy snow and icy conditions as the National Weather Service forecasts up to 18 inches of snow amid sleet and freezing rain this weekend. Officials urge residents to stock up on supplies & plan for hazardous travel conditions.  WHYY
