  • An interactive quest invites Philly residents to drop a pin on the location of Valentine’s Day-themed photos to score points. The challenge runs this week (with photos posted across town) as part of the festive celebration.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

CULTURE NEWS

  • A new survey from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance shows that Philly’s vibrant arts scene is hampered by fragmented support and scarce funding (the report calls for more unified city backing). Creative Philadelphia will release its first comprehensive cultural plan this spring to address these challenges.  WHYY
  • Philadelphia’s Odunde Festival—the largest African American street celebration—is now led by Oshunbumi Fernandez-West. Founded by her mother in 1975, the event draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and boosts the local economy through its year-round programming called Odunde 365.  KYW Newsradio
  • The Naked Magicians will perform in Philadelphia on Feb. 21 in a 90-minute adults-only show — featuring comedy, illusions and interactive stage moments that twist traditional magic. The performers expressed excitement to return to historic Philly.  Metro Philadelphia

  • Bob Borzillo (65) lost consciousness when plaque blocked his artery in his Willistown kitchen after returning from Barcelona. His wife Terri (65) quickly called 911 and followed CPR instructions until EMTs arrived; Bob is now recovering in Florida and will celebrate Valentine’s Day with Chester County friends.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

  • Philly area real estate professionals brokered $45 million in questionable deals for dozens of student rental buildings near Temple University, a recent Inquirer investigation found.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Phillies will decide their final bench spot at Spring Training in Clearwater next week as Dylan Moore, Bryan De La Cruz, Johan Rojas, and Gabriel Rincones Jr. (dealing with knee soreness) vie for a roster slot and could miss early Grapefruit League play.  Metro Philadelphia

  • Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe shone Friday night at the NBA Rising Stars event by scoring 17 points for MVP honors. He played every minute for Team Vince as they clinched a win of 25 to 24 in the championship game using teamwork + skill.  Metro Philadelphia
