- ➤ State-supported universities warned lawmakers on Wednesday that tuition hikes will come if funding remains flat. Temple University in Philadelphia expects a 3.5% to 4% increase and Penn State approved hikes for in- and out-of-state students — prompting discussions on rising costs and the role of new technology. - ➤ Students and community advocates voiced concerns about proposed school closures at a Board town hall on Thursday—arguing that limited funding and rushed plans will harm academics and community bonds.
