  • West Philly tenants are working to save 925 affordable rental units that face conversion to market rate if the city does not secure them before the July 4 deadline. Housing advocates and Councilmember Gauthier are urging city officials to act and prevent displacement of roughly 3,000 tenants (many longtime residents).  WHYY
  • Today in Philly, March Madness starts at Xfinity Mobile Arena while Philadelphia Wedding Walk offers couples an immersive tour of top venues on Sunday; earlier, Gaelic Storm plays in Wilmington on Thursday and playwright James Ijames' production runs through Sunday, showcasing the week’s vibrant mix of sports, music and arts.  WHYY
  • Montgomery County’s first female fire marshal Katelyn Valesky began her career at 16 with Huntingdon Valley Fire Company and now leads service in Hatboro borough. She also volunteers at her local fire house (an effort to inspire local youth in firefighting).  Spotlight PA

  • Councilmember Jamie Gauthier introduced legislation on Thursday to change the zoning for five schools slated for closure, aiming to reserve the property for civic use (not housing) so that educational priorities remain the focus.  KYW Newsradio

  • During March Madness, the Sixers scout guard prospects for the 2026 NBA Draft as players like Arkansas’ Thomas, Iowa’s Stirtz, Vanderbilt’s Tanner, Texas Tech’s Anderson, and Purdue’s Smith show strong skills.
