GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On March 20, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito felt ill during a dinner in Philadelphia and was taken for dehydration treatment before returning home that night, and he resumed work Monday for an oral argument.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

SPORTS NEWS

  • K1 Speed offers an electric go-kart experience at its two local tracks in Cinnaminson and Horsham, with karts reaching 45 mph and races scheduled for early May (juniors and teens on May 2 and adults on May 3) that let drivers chase faster lap times.  Metro Philadelphia
  • The Phillies head west on a six-game road trip (starting Friday, 4:10 p.m. at Denver’s Coors Field for three games in Colorado this weekend). The team, at 3-3 after their home start, aims to bounce back as they face the Rockies.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Paul George led the Sixers to a 115 to 103 win over the Timberwolves as the team showed strong defense & rebounding with key contributions from Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond. They will host the Pistons in a second contest today at 7 p.m. EST.  Metro Philadelphia
  • The Phillies scored 10-1 against the Rockies with key plays from Alec Bohm + Kyle Schwarber + Bryce Harper and strong pitching by Aaron Nola. The win moved the team to 4-3 and lifted their bats to life in Colorado.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Joel Embiid said on April 1 that he felt frustrated when he was held out of the game despite wanting to play as the Sixers’ front office made the call during his illness — his comments show a clear disagreement over how his availability was managed.  Metro Philadelphia
