COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Philadelphia Land Stewards Union launched Saturday in North Philadelphia to help local lot stewards gain priority to buy vacant lots from the Land Bank instead of selling to developers. Local leaders support the group’s plan to keep community land under local control.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

CULTURE NEWS

  • Coli Sylla has relaunched 'Where I’m From,' a web series that shares personal neighborhood stories from Philadelphia, including episodes on Mt. Airy, Broad, and Olney. Season 2 will feature live storytelling events at local block parties and festivals (more details to come).  Metro Philadelphia

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • MV Realty agreed to pay nearly $650K and cancel over 1,300 homeowner benefit agreements in a proposed settlement that awaits court approval. Once approved, the firm will have 30 days to terminate the mortgages and 45 days to notify property owners (including many in Philadelphia).  Metro Philadelphia

SPORTS NEWS

  • Catcher J.T. Realmuto left Saturday's 3-1 Phillies loss with lower back tightness after jamming his knee in Friday's game + manager Rob Thomson said he is being checked and may miss Sunday's game with Rafael Marchán starting.  Metro Philadelphia
  • The Eagles have released a 2026 NFL Draft board featuring 30 defensive prospects evaluated for run defense and pass-rushing skills (a key Philly fit) ahead of the draft. The list includes players from major college programs to address team needs.  Metro Philadelphia
  • The 76ers fell 123-91 to the Celtics in Boston as offensive struggles and turnovers marred their effort without Joel Embiid. Game 2 tipoff is set for 7 p.m.—Philadelphia aims to rebound in the series.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Ahead of Sunday's game at Citizens Bank Park, Phillies coach Rob Thomson said J.T. Realmuto was checked for back tightness, Zack Wheeler made a rehab start in New Jersey, and top prospect Aidan Miller continued recovering from a back injury.  Metro Philadelphia
  • The Flyers returned to the playoffs with a 3-2 win over the Penguins on Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena in Philadelphia. Travis Sanheim scored the go-ahead goal plus rookie Porter Martone provided insurance ahead of Game 2 in Pittsburgh on Monday.  KYW Newsradio
