  • TerraPower Isotopes broke ground Wednesday on a 250,000-square-foot facility at The Bellwether District to manufacture actinium-225 for cancer treatment trials, with production set to begin in 2029 and a $450-million investment that will create 225 full-time and 500 temporary construction jobs. Pennsylvania approved $10-million in incentives for the project.  WHYY

CULTURE NEWS

  • InLiquid is showing two new exhibitions this summer at Park Towne Place Apartments that explore identity, migration, and Revolutionary-era symbolism using works by Philadelphia-based artists (including a reimagined Revolutionary War monument). Public receptions are scheduled for June 3 and June 6 to 8 p.m. with guided tours and artist insights.  Metro Philadelphia

  • Philadelphia officials broke ground yesterday on a $450 million project to convert an old refinery (the Bellwether District site) at 3100 block of West Passyunk Avenue into a 250,000 sqft lab for cancer treatments, which will create 225 jobs and boost actinium-225 production 20 times when it opens in 2029.  KYW Newsradio

  • On Tuesday, Philadelphia school students showcased sustainability projects at the Horticultural Center in Fairmount Park as part of the city-led Green Schools program. The program awarded up to $2,500 in grants to 32 schools while Mayor Cherelle Parker urged students to pursue creative green initiatives.  KYW Newsradio
