  • A Warminster man shot his 25-year-old girlfriend just after midnight Sunday on the 200 block of Moorehead Avenue in West Conshohocken—he turned himself in by noon and now faces first-degree murder charges with a preliminary hearing set for May 27 while she was pronounced dead at Lankenau Medical Center.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

  • Philadelphia’s Italian Market Festival returned this weekend and drew crowds with more than 120 vendors, live music, and a greased pole competition — a key part of one of the city’s longest-running celebrations.   • Philadelphia Phillies closer José Alvarado was suspended for 80 games on Sunday after testing positive for external testosterone under Major League Baseball’s drug-testing program.   • Philadelphia Union topped Atlanta United 1-0 on Saturday night as Tai Baribo scored from a penalty and 19-year-old Andrew Rick kept a clean sheet — their win matches last season's total and puts them at the top of the Eastern Conference and Supporters Shield race.
