- ➤ The Philadelphia DA said Jameer Rice and Shaun Triplett received life sentences without parole for killing four people in a 17-day span in Strawberry Mansion in 2022—prosecutors said the two men shot rivals and mistakenly killed an innocent person during a retaliatory feud. - ➤ Former Philadelphia police officer Mark Dial faces trial for third-degree murder in the August 2023 killing of Eddie Irizarry & his trial will begin Monday as he remains out on $200,000 bail. WHYY

- ➤ Riders and local officials said the state Legislature must fund SEPTA to stop cuts that will lower service, close stations, and raise fares if its $213 million gap is not filled. Transit Forward leader Connor Descheemaker warned that one-time help like last fall’s $153 million from Gov. - ➤ The Inquirer analyzed Philly311 pothole data from May 9 to May 9 and found nearly 6,000 reports were filed—Center City had the most with an average repair time of nine days while lower-income areas like Olney and Frankford waited 32—36 days. The report shows about one in three pothole complaints still remain unresolved and the city is coordinating with various agencies to address its aging roads. The Philadelphia Inquirer
