ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Monday night around 8:30 p.m., a fire broke out at Black Sheep Pub in Rittenhouse Square with all customers safe as owner James Stephens said he will rebuild the pub (hoping to reopen it for the World Cup).  KYW Newsradio

  • The Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced the Dine Latino Food & Culture Passport 2026, a culinary and cultural tour that will run from June 1 through Labor Day to showcase Latino heritage across the region. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fifty-seven Philadelphia public schools are carrying out virtual classes today due to record heat — many buildings lack proper cooling. The district will cancel after-school activities and notify families when in-person learning resumes.  WHYY

  • St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in North Philly announced that it will eliminate 30 staff positions and close its kidney transplant program — only two procedures had been performed in 2025.
