- ➤ Philadelphia police are investigating a suspected love triangle shooting in West Philadelphia after officers found a 35-year-old man fatally shot in an apartment on Conshohocken Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday—witnesses identified a 34-year-old suspect who dragged a woman from the scene and was later found at the complex next door. - ➤ Former Philadelphia police officer Mark Dial — who shot 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry during an Aug. 2023 traffic stop in Kensington — was found not guilty of third-degree murder but guilty of voluntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and possessing an instrument of crime after a long jury deliberation. - ➤ Police reported that a 12-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed by a family member Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. in a West Philadelphia home on Brooklyn Street near 42nd Street and Lancaster Avenue, where six people including his mother and four children were present and a teenager was handling the gun — investigators are questioning the shooter and the boy’s mother as they work to determine how the firearm was obtained.
