- ➤ On Friday, the regular cleaning crew washed unwanted gray paint from the wall at 100 Steps along the Wissahickon Creek Trail, restoring stone tones many residents value while some still criticized the error and the use of city resources. The Philadelphia Inquirer
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Friends of the Wissahickon are studying ways to limit storm runoff and erosion after Hurricane Ida flooded Forbidden Drive. The nonprofit will release a draft study in November and begin project design in 2028 (with support from local parks and community officials) to protect the park’s water quality. WHYY
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Zack Wheeler delivered a six-inning performance that led the Phillies to a 3-0 shutout of the Guardians on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park — raising his record to 4-0 and lowering his ERA to 1.99. Metro Philadelphia
- ➤ Former Phillies pitcher Taijuan Walker signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Angels on May 23 and reported to rookie ball in Arizona. He was released on April 23 (due to performance issues) and now aims to rebuild his arm. Metro Philadelphia
