- ➤ Philadelphia school principals gathered outside Potter-Thomas Elementary School to urge City Council to approve Mayor Parker’s proposed $1-per-ride tax on Uber and Lyft rides to prevent teacher and staff reassignments that could lead to larger classes (the tax is projected to raise $48 million for local schools). - ➤ SEPTA restored overnight trolley tunnel service between Center City and West Philly on Saturday, May 22 following repairs. - ➤ Roads in Lemon Hill and East Fairmount Park are closed as crews set up stages for the FIFA Fan Festival, which runs from June 11 to July 19 with an expected 15,000 daily fans.
