- ➤ Philadelphia’s Laurel Hill East and West cemeteries are hosting the inaugural Death and Arts Festival where five artists explore aging, dying and grieving through dance, workshops, and panel talks— the four-day event began on May 29 and continues this weekend. WHYY

- ➤ Hill-Freedman Records at a local high school released its seventh album, Heart & Soul, with support from John Legend & Jordan Mailata and is now working on its eighth album. The project is part of a required music technology class where ninth and tenth graders create original songs. WHYY
- ➤ The Lower Merion School District said that on April 10 (nearly two months ago) a BoardDocs glitch released highly sensitive documents including legal memos and personal records; officials fixed the issue after being told by someone in a legal case. - ➤ Urban chicken coop owners in Philadelphia hope City Council will soon introduce a bill to overturn the 21-year ban on backyard hens and legalize urban chicken keeping. - ➤ Researchers said the Asian Longhorned tick, which can lay up to 1000 eggs without mating, is now the second-most common tick in Pennsylvania after spreading quickly since it was first spotted in 2017. A study in Philadelphia and nearby areas did not find any of five germs tested, but experts warn the tick could give diseases like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Babesiosis — so people should check for ticks after being outside.
