- ➤ A North Philly group from the Latino Partnership Institute is renovating an abandoned school in Manuabo to build a center for vulnerable women and children in Puerto Rico nearly eight years after Hurricane Maria. They held a community event last Friday in Las Parcelas near Norris Square Park (with Bomba and Plena performances) to raise funds and spread awareness about the island’s ongoing recovery. - ➤ Philadelphia will adjust service hours on June 19 for Juneteenth—grocery stores, liquor outlets, big box retailers, transit, and pharmacies will operate as usual while USPS offices, banks, and trash pickup will be postponed to the next day. The Philadelphia Inquirer

- ➤ Philadelphia health officials are ramping up disease surveillance ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup with the first local game kicking off today at Lincoln Financial Field.
