- ➤ Philadelphia police will get new midnight blue shirts in the fall to replace their baby blue uniforms from the 1970s—officers said the old shirts stained easily and were hard to clean. - ➤ Philadelphia has declared a Heat Health Emergency through Wednesday as extreme heat will hit our region starting Sunday with temperatures reaching 96 degrees that feel like 101 and climbing to 98 degrees that feel like 108 on Monday and Tuesday. City officials will open cooling sites at libraries and recreation centers to help residents stay safe — they advise taking breaks in the shade and drinking plenty of water when outside.
