  • Firefighters found a body at a home on Rising Sun Avenue in Crescentville after a fire early Monday morning — police said the decedent had been in the house for some time and investigators suspected squatters lived there.  KYW Newsradio

  • Philadelphia sports artist Jordan Spector launched his limited edition collectible card THE DAGGER—honoring DeVonta Smith’s celebrated Super Bowl LIX touchdown—at the Celebrity Softball game at Coca-Cola Park on Saturday, and fans bought from one of 11 versions that included 99 autographed copies among 6,000 cards.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Philly theater companies are teaming up today as Azuka Theatre and Simpatico Theatre share artistic director Allison Heishman. The two companies will co-produce a season that includes the world premiere of an autobiographical show in the fall and a thriller in the spring while each keeps its own identity.  WHYY

  • State lawmakers are split over how to fill a $5.5 billion gap as they work to pass a balanced budget today—if a deal is not reached, school districts and counties may need to borrow funds. Gov. Josh Shapiro—House Majority Leader Matt Bradford and Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman will meet behind closed doors to decide on spending for Medicaid, education, and transit.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

  • Jefferson Health launched its Community Health Worker Academy to train local residents as frontline helpers who connect patients with community resources.   • On June 24, the Phillies beat the Braves 2-1 as Ranger Suarez pitched seven strong innings—striking out eight while giving up only four hits—to win his seventh game and lift the team to a 49–25 record and a 1.5-game lead in the NL East.
