- ➤ Parents of Thaduba Magdalena Turay, killed last year on I-95, are suing Nickels Tavern and Live! Casino & Hotel—alleging the bars overserved an intoxicated driver whose wrong-way crash ended her life. - ➤ During the sanitation workers' strike, neighborhoods with private trash haulers like Rittenhouse stayed clean while areas such as Kensington and South Philadelphia saw overflowing dumpsters and trash on sidewalks—local business improvement districts and community groups stepped in until the city resumes regular collection next week. - ➤ Trash collection resumed after DC 33 union leaders and city officials agreed on a new three-year contract that provides 3% raises each year and adds a fifth pay step—though some workers called the deal tough.
