  • Philadelphia police released new video of a bearded suspect with long hair and distinctive shoes seen pacing a porch during a deadly Grays Ferry shooting over the Fourth of July weekend that injured 13 and killed 3—if anyone recognizes him, they are asked to call the homicide division—as the city offers a $20,000 reward for information.  KYW Newsradio

CULTURE NEWS

  • Opera Philadelphia and countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo will host public performances of the historic Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia's Grand Court this fall—events will include opera, ballet, theater and drag, starting with an event on Sunday, Sept. 7 before renovations begin next year.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A report by the Forum of Executive Women shows that Philadelphia women still earn less than men even when factors like seniority and merit are considered—data reveals the gap widens with age and caregiving responsibilities.   • PECO is launching a new customer assistance fund funded by Exelon's $10 million one-time donation to offer $500 grants as credits on bills starting Aug. 4 until Dec. 31 or until funds run out—customers must earn between 151% and 300% of the federal poverty level and have a current account with a past-due balance under $2,000.  WHYY

  • The 2025-26 Sixers will count on Tyrese Maxey to improve his playmaking, midrange shooting, and controlled speed as he steps into a bigger role.   • On Wednesday, the Phillies traded starting pitcher Mick Abel and catching prospect Eduardo Tait to the Twins for closer Jhoan Durán.
