- ➤ Philadelphia police arbitrators (appointed by the FOP) reinstated five officers fired for allegedly assaulting or threatening women after reviewing evidence including video and witness statements, and a citizens oversight commission (reporting concerns) said the decisions are troubling. - ➤ SEPTA said it will cut 20% of service if a state transit funding deal is not reached by August 14, with deep cuts beginning on August 24. The new plan includes removing 32 bus routes and 3,000 stops, a fare increase on September 1, and will require commuters to plan extra time for transfers — an effort to quickly adjust schedules for impending funding challenges.
