- ➤ The Museum of the American Revolution will offer free admission for children 12 and under when tickets are purchased at the front desk during Labor Day Weekend from Aug. 30th to Sept. 1st—families can also explore history tours and live reenactments at the museum. Metro Philadelphia
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today the Philadelphia Zoo welcomes two endangered big cats—female Amur tiger Rory and male Amur leopard Rafferty—into their Big Cat Falls habitats as part of a species survival breeding program to help protect at-risk animals. Guests can see the cats during daily feedings and training sessions. Metro Philadelphia

- ➤ Protesters packed state Sen. Joe Picozzi’s Northeast Philadelphia office on Aug. 18 to protest SEPTA cuts that will slash 20% of service and raise fares starting Sept. 1. They said they will return today to demand full funding—accusing Picozzi of ignoring local needs—and hoping to prevent further cuts. WHYY

- ➤ The Philadelphia Board of Health has delayed a vote on mobile service regulations for Kensington due to legal & equity concerns about limiting providers to the 7th Councilmanic District. Officials and community members said the decision will be revisited once more legal advice and review of the impact on access to care are completed. Metro Philadelphia

- ➤ The Twisted Tail announced that its 11th Annual Whiskey Bonanza will be held on Sept. 25—featuring over 100 whiskeys, a cocktail competition, a southern pig roast, live music and a cigar lounge from a revamped Airstream outside the restaurant.
