- ➤ Philadelphia street festival organizers reported that rising costs for required police patrols have forced events like the Manayunk Arts Festival and the Northern Liberties Night Market to shrink or cancel as security fees have more than doubled since earlier years—putting a strain on community celebrations. - ➤ A wrong-way driver ran a red light at Broad and Wallace on Broad Street in Spring Garden at 4:15 p.m.—crashing into another car and leaving an 11-year-old boy and the driver in critical condition while a passenger was treated for injuries. KYW Newsradio

- ➤ At a Zoom hearing, Judge Linda Carpenter scolded city officials for delaying the promised review of Ellen Greenberg’s death—part of a settlement in which her parents received money after her 2011 case was ruled homicide then changed to suicide. - ➤ A new study shows Philadelphia’s PHLousing+ program helps low-income renters pay no more than 30% of their income on housing by loading unrestricted monthly cash payments onto prepaid debit cards, which led to a 75% drop in forced moves and halved the chance of homelessness over two years. The pilot, a partnership between the University of Pennsylvania, the housing authority and PHDC, will conclude in June 2026+ its findings may support making the program a permanent housing aid. WHYY
