- ➤ The Philadelphia Museum of Art now holds the work of NYC’s Brand X Editions in a new exhibit called Innovation in Screenprinting—350 archival prints are on display and every new print will be added over the next 10 years. The show features work by famous artists and runs until Nov. 16. WHYY
- ➤ On Sept. 14, thousands attended the 25th annual Mexican Independence Day Festival at Penn’s Landing—despite ongoing ICE operations—and enjoyed cultural performances and food that honored Mexican American heritage. WHYY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ SEPTA service is restored today after cuts made three weeks ago, but riders now pay more as bus and subway fares rise from $2.50 to $2.90 and Regional Rail fares increase about $1—a judge had ordered the rollback of service cuts following a 21.5% fare hike meant to address a $213 million shortfall while Gov. Josh Shapiro approved using up to $394 million from PennDOT to support the agency. KYW Newsradio
- ➤ On Sunday, the Bustleton post office was renamed in honor of Temple University police Sgt. Christopher Fitzgerald—fatally shot on duty in February—as a tribute to his service to the community. Family members and officials attended the ceremony where Congressman Boyle's legislation, signed by former President Biden in November, marked a lasting memorial to his legacy.
