- ➤ Yesterday, a $15M state-of-the-art equestrian arena opened in Fairmount Park, giving the Work to Ride youth development program a year-round venue at its Chamounix Equestrian Center. The 44,000-square-foot McCausland Arena, built with public and private funds and named after a major donor family, is hosting the Philadelphia Arena Polo Championship this weekend. WHYY
- ➤ The Midtown Village Merchants Association canceled its annual fall festival after 20 years because rising city costs and a loss of sponsors made the event too expensive—association president Fergus Carey said the festival was burdened by debts, including over $22,000 owed to the city.
