SPORTS NEWS

  • Shohei Ohtani makes his first postseason pitching start at Citizens Bank Park in Game 1 of the NLDS today as the Dodgers treat him like a regular starter after his elbow surgery. • The Flyers lost to the Islanders 4-3 on September 29 as their competitive preseason game exposed defensive issues and turnovers that cost the team control. Key players like Zamula and Drysdale struggled while Dvorak and Konecny showed promise on special teams.  Metro Philadelphia
  • Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh hit a rough patch in his 2025 season with a .095 average before a rehab stint in triple-A Lehigh Valley and a word of advice from teammate Garrett Stubbs helped him change his approach—he later posted a .303 average after returning from a hamstring injury. His turnaround shows how a strong mindset and focused effort can reset a player's performance.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • The Phillies ended their season on Sept. 28 when Nick Castellanos hit a sacrifice fly at Citizens Bank Park and the Eagles beat the Bucs in Tampa. The Flyers started preseason hockey while Villanova basketball held media day.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
