ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Sen. John Fetterman fell near his Braddock home on Thursday during an early-morning walk when a bout of light-headedness triggered by a heart condition made him hit his face—he is now under routine observation at a Pittsburgh hospital. KYW Newsradio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Oct. 30, Mischief Night, staff at Christ Church in Old City found that the marble mounting for its bronze Great Bell—cast in 1702 and modeled after the Liberty Bell—was damaged after large stones were reportedly thrown at it, prompting the church to plan a restoration and clean up the nearby area. - ➤ Philadelphia artist Meg Saligman will transform the 1870 Manufacturers National Bank in Old City into 'The Ministry of Awe'—a five-story immersive art installation with murals, interactive art and themed rooms. The installation will open March 14, 2026. WHYY
- ➤ Philadelphia musician Dendê Macêdo turns trash into music by building instruments from discarded chairs, tires, and cans—using his Recycled Sounds project to promote recycling and lower waste. He teaches kids about recycling and will perform with his band at City Winery on Sunday, Nov. 16. WHYY
- ➤ This weekend, dog lovers can attend the National Dog Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center—2,000 top purebred dogs will compete for best in show on Saturday and Sunday. - ➤ South Street District is partnering with Coca-Cola to host its first Holiday Night Market on Nov. 22. - ➤ Philadelphia’s Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History will open the exhibition 'The First Salute' in April—featuring artifacts from Sint Eustatius, a small Caribbean island that played a key role in the American Revolution. - ➤ Flyers announced they will host Phish Night at the Flyers on Jan. 8 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, where local cover band Rift will perform a pregame set and fans will receive limited-edition co-branded T-shirts (blending the band's fish logo with mascot Gritty) while ticket proceeds benefit Phish's charity WaterWheel Foundation. This marks the first time a pro sports team partners with Phish (with drummer Jon Fishman and keyboardist Page McConnell born in Philadelphia), highlighting a unique blend of hockey and musical heritage.
