- ➤ Manayunk is gearing up for its annual holiday series starting tomorrow with a tree lighting ceremony at Canal View Park—beginning at 5:30 p.m.—with events like a decorating contest, a holiday pop-up at Taqueria Amor, and Operation Santa Claus on Nov. 21, followed by trolley rides in December, Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29, and Santa Paws on Dec. 6. - ➤ Developers tied to 900 Conshohocken LLC withdrew their zoning application on Nov. 17 to build a data center at an unused steel mill in Plymouth Township due to a legal snafu—counsel said the sale agreement was not finalized. - ➤ Philadelphia's Boathouse Row was lit in pink and green during Sunday Night Football as part of a film promo for Wicked: For Good (its first paid movie campaign). The lighting display was filmed on Friday and lasted about 20 minutes to support future partnerships. The Philadelphia Inquirer
- ➤ Opera Philadelphia and WHYY will present a holiday concert on Dec. 2 in the vacant Grand Court of the former Macy’s building featuring the Opera Philadelphia Orchestra, chorus, and soloists Leah Hawkins and Anthony Roth Costanzo. - ➤ Thomas Jefferson University added its first alma mater written by customer service employee Elizabeth Avril Barden during its bicentennial celebrations — the song 'Jefferson How We Adore Thee' was presented at a gala event Tuesday evening. - ➤ The School District of Philadelphia is gathering public feedback through an online survey to help decide whether to modernize, merge, or close aging school buildings that are under- or over-enrolled—responses will be used to shape recommendations presented to the Board of Education this winter.
