Philadelphia celebrates Kwanzaa with community events starting today at the Free Library and African American Museum, featuring live music, dancing, and feasts to honor unity, self-determination, and other guiding principles; forthcoming events at Haverford Library, Franklin Square Park, and the Penn Museum offer crafts, storytelling, and vendor markets.
On Dec. 25, the Weitzman National Museum hosted its annual 'Being ____ at Christmas' party to welcome all community members with movie screenings, games, and live performances.
Director Daniel Samuels said the event included festive activities (like Philly Suns lion dancers) to celebrate shared traditions.
